Sun Yoga’s approach has always been strictly anatomy (it is the school’s strength) and Sutra-based, combining modern western knowledge with ancient eastern philosophy. As a Sun Yoga teacher, you will have a deep understanding between yoga postures and human physiology, as well as a strong grounding in yoga philosophy.
Sun Yoga has been conducting teacher-training courses compliant with the USA Yoga Alliance since 2005. To date, it has trained over 500 teachers worldwide. Sun Yoga publishes yoga teacher training textbooks that are used by other yoga schools.
Note that this course will not be registered with Yoga Alliance until 1st of July (we register courses on a needs-only basis).
Jacqueline Koay is the mother of five children, a yogi, a dancer, a writer and a cook. Jacqueline dedicates her life to her children and love, and devotes herself to women’s and children’s health through her work at a specialist clinic in Jakarta Indonesia, where she currently resides for part of the year.
Trainee teachers: Requirements
We require that you be in good health with a regular yoga practice.
However, the teacher-training programme will be a wonderful opportunity for you to be your fittest self: you will begin with a preparatory week (2 to 4 hours of physical practice and self study) in a stunning yoga studio in Cap d’Ail, where you can go for long walks by the sea as well as enjoy periods of contemplation.
During the following 2 weeks of intensive teacher training, you will begin each day with a 90-minute practice to further improve your fitness, as well as get you established in your practice as a yoga teacher.
Upon completion of the 3 weeks, you will be required to assist and to teach under supervision at Elanda Villa, either in August or September.
Once you are registered for the course and we have received your payment, you will receive instructions on the practices that you can begin at home to prepare you for your journey. In the first week, you will be introduced to yoga sutra either by Skype or “live” if you are already in Cap d’Ail. You will be given exercises to do, which are reading, contemplation and group discussion.
